Busy week is coming up, and you still have 12 reports to do on top of two class presentations and five final examinations. It’s quite overwhelming, and you don’t know where or how to start. To get you on your way, check this list which can help you improve your productivity.

1. Create a schedule. List down all your deadlines and carefully plan out when to do each task. Be as detailed as you can, because you wouldn’t want to overlook a small but crucial step. Make sure to allocate more time for more important ones, like a thesis proposal or a major exam. It’s also good to confirm deadlines and schedules because they can get moved around due to conflicts or special considerations.

2. Tick your wins. With the schedule you created, create a daily list of accomplishments and tick off every one you finish. Accomplishing tasks, no matter how little, gives a sense of fulfilment which acts as motivation to keep working. Use every win as fuel for the next one.

3. Reward yourself. To further motivate yourself to be productive, give yourself something you’ll enjoy after a set number of accomplishments. It could be an episode of your favorite show, a movie ticket for when hell week’s over, or a simple sweet treat like Jack ‘n Jill Cream-O.

4. Eliminate distractions. Did you know that you’re more productive when you work on tasks one at a time? Our brains aren’t wired to multitask, so try to handle things one at a time. If you’re feeling out of focus, maybe you need a kick of caffeine. Keep a supply of Great Taste White Coffee and a thermos on hand so you can easily make a cup without wasting too much time.

5. Track your time. The human brain can only do so much. You have to take breaks to let it rest and recover. Every 20 minutes, take a 10-second break to stretch, breathe, or rest your eyes. After one or two hours of studying, take a 15-minute break. You can take a walk, wash some dishes, or get a quick bite of Jack ‘n Jill Cloud 9.

6. Listen to music. Listening to classical or instrumental music can boost your concentration and really get you in the zone. If there are noises around that might distract you, wear headphones.

7. Eat well and hydrate. It’s important to eat healthy in order to keep your body and mind in top shape. Go for foods with fresh fruits and vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains. As for snacks, opt for something nutrient-dense like Nice & Natural Nut Bars, which is packed with protein and fiber. Instead of soda, drink some protein-rich Vitasoy instead. Take regular intervals to drink water. If you’re running low, run to the nearest convenience store and grab some Refresh Mineral Water. Make sure to hydrate, because dehydration can decrease your brain power.

One last push and next thing you know, crunch time is over! Time to enjoy your vacation as you wait for your grades to come in.
